You can build a career or get some extra cash with these 10 work from home jobs.

Whether you have kids to take care of or you’re not quite ready to face the post-pandemic working world yet, there are plenty of options to work from home and make some extra money.

These work from home jobs aren’t just easy to find and available to virtually everyone with a computer and Internet. They’re also a lot of fun.

Here are 10 ideas of what you can do from home part-time or full-time and earn money without ever leaving your couch.

1. Selling on eBay, Amazon, Etsy, or Vinted

Online marketplaces used to be a great option for selling your second-hand items instead of tossing them in the garbage.

But now, there are plenty of options to make e-commerce a work from home job.

If you have an artistic hobby, Etsy is a great place for you to start. Whether you’re making hand-made scrunchies or paintings, there’s always a buyer out there.

If you have more clothes than you need, Vinted is a great place to get rid of them while making money. And if you can negotiate with a supplier, you can even open an online shop on Amazon.

2. Virtual Assistant

Being a virtual assistant can be anything you want it to be. Think of it as being a remote secretary.

Virtual assistants are usually independent contractors who work from home. Their main task is to support multiple clients in a variety of industries with administrative, creative, and technical projects.

3. Transcriptionist

Videos, meetings, and tutorials can all use transcription services. If you have a keen ear and plenty of patience, becoming a transcriptionist can be a perfect work from home job for you.

The problem with this type of job is how difficult it is to get. Getting references can also get tricky, especially since many of your clients only want you for one-off projects.

4. Translator

If you speak a foreign language, becoming a translator is a great option to work from home.

Even though there is plenty of translator software, human translators are still in high demand. Conveying the meaning, feeling, and intention of the original text or audio isn’t an easy job for a computer.

Translators can easily work from home.

5. Web Designer

Of all the work from home jobs,  you would think this one would be dying out when there are things like WordPress out there. But, the truth is that WordPress is the reason why web designers are now in such great demand.

WordPress has made it very easy for anybody to go online and create a website. As a result, thousands of people now own their own websites. Many of these websites become successful, and when they become successful, the owners want to upgrade to professionally designed websites, and that is where web designers come in.

The people who thrive in this business are experts in two fields. They are experts at designing websites and are experts at selling their design skills to people.

6.  Web Developer

Just like web designers, web developers are popular because of how many successful websites there are these days.

A web developer adds functions to websites, makes them more secure, faster, and deals with technical issues.

Depending on your client, you may get single projects, or you may find a client who is able to push job after job in your direction.

7.  Coder and Programmer

This work from home job is one of the best-paid ones out there, mainly because there’s considerable skill and expertise needed to code well.

Coders and programmers are needed for a wide variety of things, from creating apps for websites to fixing security problems in networks.

Even game modders get paid chunks of money for building useful mods that then break or enhance the original game.

If you have the skills and you’re willing to commit to keep on learning, then you can make a very good living by being a coder or programmer who works from home.

8. Freelance Writer

Every blog, article, website, ad, and social media post on the Internet is written by writers.

While some work in-house with an agency or the brand itself, most of the words you read are the work of freelance writers.

Freelance writers work on a variety of projects, and best of all, they do all their work remotely. If you’re looking for an approachable work from home job, you can make a living as a writer.

9. Proofreader

Possibly the highest paid of all the work from home jobs because proofreaders are in very high demand. Some companies are willing to pay a lot of money for proofreading services.

The problem with proofreaders is the inability to scale up. While your calendar may fill up fast, the level of work is relatively constant.

For this job, you need the right skills, temperament, and people skills to sell yourself and your service to companies.

10. Contact Center Agent

We may be biased, but we think this is one of the best work from home jobs out there.
